PhotoKey 6, a significant update on the world’s leading green screen software for professional and amateur photographers, has been unveiled by creators FXhome today (Thursday 11th April).
The new, highly-polished, version for Mac and Windows PC has been designed to make the process between capturing images against a green screen and layering them on to a new background even quicker and easier – while maintaining high quality results.
As with previous editions, the software remains ideal for both amateur users looking to create fun images to use on greeting cards, posters or mocked-up magazine covers, or for professional users to complete studio shoots by adding the client’s required background.
Increasing speed and efficiency, PhotoKey6 instantly removes the background green screen as the photo is imported. Following the on-screen guide, the new background can then be created in just a couple of clicks.
Users can choose from one of the 25 free themed backgrounds supplied, or from their own photos. The images can then be enhanced using the new, enhanced selection of colour filters and special effects and completed with text and graphics. Free step by step guides and video tutorials are easily accessible if needed.
The new software also includes the addition of cutting edge technology to help ensure realistic results when working with finer details such as hair or lace, and to remove any reflected light from the original green screen.
The PhotoKey6 Pro edition provides even further benefits for professional users to give maximum control over images.
Key features include; advanced spill simulation techniques to create realistic natural lighting, automatic shadow casting, an increased selection of tints and over 30 effects and colour correction filters.
To enable the photographer to focus on capturing the initial images, the new software automatically processes hundreds or even thousands of images. Each photo can then be instantly exported to multiple background variations.

A free plug-in enables the technology to be applied to any layer in an Adobe Photoshop project to create a fast and intuitive process for experienced Photoshop users. The software includes 50 free themed backgrounds including studio backings, cloudscape and fantasy.
